TEARFUL chat show queen Oprah Winfrey refused to say goodbye to fans as she brought her last ever show to a close - declaring they were the love of her life and vowing they would meet again.

The show that made her name had been running for 25 years and seen her personal wealth grow to over £1BILLION.

Such was its success she repaid her fans with thanks - and cars. She gave an entire audience a car EACH in one famous episode and part of the secret of her success was getting celebs to open up to her.

In one iconic interview movie star Tom Cruise famously jumped up and down on her sofa declaring his love for partner Katie Holmes.

The media magnate will now dedicate her time to developing her own TV channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network.

She told her audience: "Thank you for being as much of a sweet inspiration for me as I tried to be for you.

"I won't say goodbye. I'll just say until we meet again."

She left Harpo Studios in Chicago hugging and kissing staff shouting one last "we did it" as the programme ended.

She made a point of declaring there would be no giveaways to her final audience - having given away so much to guests in the past - but made a point of saying her viewers had been the love of her life.

"There will be no surprises. You will not be getting a car or a treat," she told them.

"This is my love letter to you."

She added: "4,561 days of my life is what this show's about.

"I never missed a day in 25 years because you were here."

She delved into the archive to remember some of the most famous moments in the show's history.

They included appearances by rape victims, AIDS victims and drug addicts.

Winfrey announced in November 2009 that she would quit the show.

It's a question that has few legal precedents, but is likely to become increasingly important, as more and more people get tattoos and intellectual property law tries to keep pace. The issue will go before a judge starting Monday, as Mike Tyson's tattoo artist, S. Victor Whitmill, sues Warner Brothers for depicting a tattoo similar to the famous boxer's in the new film 'Hangover 2'. On April 28, Mr Whitmill filed a motion in Federal District Court in St. Louis asking a judge to order Warner Brothers to stop using what he calls his 'tribal tattoo' in its posters or in the movie. That would effectively block the film from being released, or at least delay it until further editing. Mr Whitmill is also seeking monetary damages for what he deemed 'reckless copyright infringement'. Mr Whitmill used to live in Las Vegas but currently lives in rural Missouri, where he co-runs a tattoo shop called Paradox Studio and Gallery, which is on historic Route 66 in Waynesville.

Mr Tyson, who has a small role in the film, as he did in the 2009 hit 'Hangover', is not named in the suit. But lawyers say the proceedings are not merely frivolous, and could possibly delay release of the much anticipated film, now set for May 26.

Jerry Jenkins, co-author with Tim LaHaye of the 'Left Behind' series of apocalyptic novels that have sold millions of copies worldwide, is among those who has a problem with the prediction.

'As a believer, I'm already a kook compared to most people, so for someone to choose a date and get everyone excited about a certain time, my problem is it makes us look worse,' said Jenkins, 61.

But the very industry in which Jenkins' books are aimed and sold are part of the problem according to Barbara Rossing, professor of the New Testament at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

She describes a huge apocalyptic 'prophecy industry' that includes video games, board games and books, and says: 'It is very appealing to people.'

Two men face trial for murdering Stephen Lawrence

TWO men are to face trial over the murder of black teenager Stephen Lawrence 18 years ago, it can be reported today.

The 18-year-old A-level student was stabbed to death at a bus stop in Eltham, south east London.

Gary Dobson, 35, and David Norris, 34, were arrested last September over the April 1993 murder and are in custody.

The allegations could not be reported until today for legal reasons.

Speaking outside the Court of Appeal today Stephen's father Neville Lawrence said: "I am pleased now. I can relax. I was so tense last night."

Today Norris, wearing a dark suit and tieless shirt, was at the Court of Appeal while Dobson was not present.

The new trial over Mr Lawrence's death was announced by the Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge, sitting at the Court of Appeal in London with Mrs Justice Rafferty and Mr Justice Holroyde.

In 1996 Dobson, Luke Knight and Neil Acourt were tried for murder in a private prosecution brought by Mr Lawrence's parents at the Old Bailey.

Following the trial judge's ruling that purported identification evidence was not admissible, there was insufficient further evidence to justify the continuation of the prosecution. The jury was directed to acquit the defendants and not guilty verdicts were entered. Today's ruling by the appeal judges followed an application by the prosecution for the acquittal of Dobson to be quashed and for a retrial to be ordered.

Lifting previous blanket reporting restrictions on the case, Lord Judge announced: "There is to be a new trial."

The trial is due to take place in November at the Old Bailey, where a further hearing is due in the next two months.

In a statement, the blockbuster action man issued a profuse apology to his family and estranged spouse.

He said: "After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago.

"I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family.

"There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologised to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."

It's claimed Maria moved out after learning of the actor's infidelity earlier this year.

When she confronted him with the allegation, Arnie reportedly confessed.

The member of staff, whose identity has not been revealed, had worked for the family for 20 years before retiring in January, insisting she had "left on good terms with them".

The mystery woman had claimed her then-husband was the child's father until Arnie came clean yesterday.

Arnie's reputation as a womaniser grew in 2003 during his first campaign for governor when more than a dozen women came forward claiming the actor had groped them over a period of many years.

He initially denied the allegations, but later apologised for any offence caused.

Maria and Arnie announced their break-up last week, saying: "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision.

"This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us."

The French political bigshot who heads the International Monetary Fund was arrested for allegedly sodomizing a Manhattan hotel maid yesterday — hauled off an Air France flight just moments before takeoff from Kennedy Airport, police sources said. Three Port Authority detectives pulled Dominique Strauss-Kahn from the plane’s first-class cabin just two minutes before it was due to depart for Paris, according to the police sources.

Strauss-Kahn, 62 — who was expected to challenge French President Nicholas Sarkozy in the 2012 election — was turned over to NYPD officers and brought to the Special Victims Unit’s uptown squad room. Strauss-Kahn is awaiting arraignment on charges of a criminal sex act, attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.

The trouble began at around 1 p.m. yesterday when a 32-year-old housekeeper entered Strauss-Kahn’s $3,000-a-night suite at the luxury Sofitel on West 44th Street — apparently unaware he was still inside. The married Strauss-Kahn was in the bathroom, and emerged naked, chased her down a hallway and pulled her into a bedroom, where “he jumps her,” a source said.

“She pulled away from him and he dragged her down a hallway into the bathroom where he engaged in a criminal sexual act, according to her account to detectives,” Browne said. “He tried to lock her into the hotel room.” Soon afterward, Strauss-Kahn got dressed and headed off to JFK for a flight to Paris.

The head of the International Monetary Fund has been remanded in custody accused of a sex attack on a US hotel maid.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn was refused bail by a New York judge who decided he might attempt to flee the country.

The 62-year-old, who before his arrest at the weekend was seen as a favourite to become France's next president, must stay in jail until his next hearing on May 20, despite offering to post a million dollar bail bond.

Strauss-Kahn is accused of attacking the maid who went in to clean his 3,000-dollars (£1,850) a night penthouse suite at a luxury hotel near Times Square.

Defence Lawyer Benjamin Brafman said his client denied any wrongdoing.

Strauss-Kahn faces charges including attempted rape, sex abuse, criminal sex act, unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching.

The top count is punishable by five to 25 years in prison.

That's a real low down shame if this is true and deserves everything he has coming!

Husband Material

Often we wonder what are the qualities that make a man a "real man" but also if and when we want to go a bit deeper we wonder what makes a man "Husband material". The man is considered as the cornerstone and head of the household. His role is never dissected or questioned hes the lion in the jungle but women do go beyond the barriers where others dear not go all in the name of love and in search of the truth to make sure that they have a secure future with the one they love.

Here are some things to think about and dig through , make sure they are in place to decide whether a man is Husband material:

Handy - Guys, are you handy - what is handy? Handy is when you take action to solve a problem, handy is when you change a light bulb without complaint, handy is when you take out the garbage (your idea, not hers). Wives like for their husbands to be handy - it's not hard, be part of the solution - not the problem.

Provision Oriented - Please don't get excited - this isn't about the husband making all the money. Its an attitude to help your wife fill in gaps. She can't do everything - so help her! Is she busy with the kids - give up 10 minutes of the ballgame and clean dishes, fold laundry, or whatever. You don't even need to be all that big of a help - you just need to show you're trying.

Humility - Nobody likes an arrogant man - there's no place for it in marriage. Show humility - when you're wrong - admit it and do so with humility. She'll probably be shocked and her reaction might be unpredictable - but inside she'll glow with admiration.

Adaptability - Guys, marriage is an ever changing world and you've got to adapt favorably to those changes or you'll find yourself wondering what you're doing and how you got there. If you look closely at your wife - filtering out years of environmentally induced behavioural changes - you'll see that glowing woman you fell in love with years ago. Let me explain further - my love and feelings toward my wife have not changed since the day we married. However, our relationship has changed as a necessity to those changes around us. Time constraints, needs of children, financial obligations, etc. each require a level of effort that takes time away from our relationship. No longer do we have the luxury of hours to spend alone together. You're success as a husband will largely be dependent on your attitude toward the adaptations required by life. Lastly, don't let the tail wag the dog - don't let your feelings toward life's changes affect feelings toward your wife - leave this to your heart.

Sensitivity - You can forget what you learned in high school - most women aren't looking for a husband who never cries. A sensitive husband perceives the needs of his wife and looks to meet them. Sensitivity toward your wife will open doors of communication and intimacy you never thought possible. Try it, get that chip off your shoulder and show her some sensitivity.

Faithfulness / Loyalty - Show her you're in it for the long haul (notice I said show her). How can you show someone you're faithful and loyal? Do you follow through with your commitments - however small they might be? Are you honest with your wife? Do you keep her up to date on your activities? Do you include her in your world? She's interested - show her it's not just about you - its about her as well and you'll reap the benefits of her security.

Good Listener - This might be the biggest challenge for husbands. You see, by nature, men are usually productive oriented and women are usually more relational. Men often make the mistake of trying to solve their wife's "problems". She doesn't want you to solve anything - she wants you to listen (really listen) and show her that you truly are interested in what she says. She wants you to feel what she feels and live what she lives. When you learn to truly listen to your wife and keep your mouth shut - your marriage will blossom.
